JASON PEERS (FCSI) - Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Jason Peers, a highly experienced leader with C level experience in investment and commercial banking, private equity investments and joint ventures and in corporate turnarounds, financial restructuring and work outs. In addition to his expertise in financial services Jason has considerable experience across the natural resources sector with particular focus on upstream oil and gas, oil field services and the mining and metals industry.

He founded Jasper Capital Limited in 2001. He has advised prestigious clients such as the United Kingdom Government, the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, several Gulf based financial institutions and many leading United Kingdom and Gulf based companies.

He has acted a senior advisor to Mubadala GE Capital in Abu Dhabi, to the US Boston Consulting ....and to the UK's BDO Corporate Finance. He also acted special advisor to the UK Government on the Saudi Arabian Financial Services sector.

In 2012 Jason was asked to join one of Jasper's leading clients, the Dutco Group of Companies and co founded their highly successful natural resources focused business, Dutco Energy, where he served as Chief Investment Officer.

In 2017 Jason joined the Board of The Sure Chill Company Ltd, an exciting green technology company specialising in sustainable cooling.

Also in 2017 he was asked by the shareholders of Strategic Precious Metals Processing FZE to assume the role of interim CEO of a new build metal refinery in Sohar, Oman in which Dutco had a founding shareholding alongside an Oman Sovereign Wealth Fund and a UK listed company. In this role he successfully prepared the company for a new management team to take it into production.

In 1996, Jason joined Barclays Bank Group where he spent six years as Managing Director, latterly in Barclays Capital, responsible for a large group of markets. He helped establish the bank as an acknowledged leader in the Middle East in structured trade and export finance, aircraft financing and project finance, and as a leading player in the oil, gas, petrochemical, power and telecoms sectors. He played a key role in developing the Barclays Capital, Barclays Private Bank and Barclays Global Investors businesses in the Gulf region.

In 1992, he became Head of Corporate Banking for Saudi International Bank, a Saudi government controlled consortium bank managed by JP Morgan. In 1983, Jason joined Lloyds Bank International from University and spent ten years in various managerial roles in South America, Australasia and the Middle East.

Having led a significant number of major transactions during his career with three leading financial institutions, and subsequently with sovereign wealth funds and a major private conglomerate, he has extensive experience of the full range of investment banking products and services, of structuring complex financings, including asset financing, leasing structures, private equity investments, financial restructurings and derivative transactions for clients in developing and emerging countries.

He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in the United Kingdom and a graduate in History from London University. Jason sits on the board of the Chartered Institute of Securities and investments Middle East branch and on the Middle East Council of the International Project Finance Association (IPFA).
